The PVHS Girls’ soccer team faced a challenging match against Equipo at home on August 30th. The Trojans started strong, keeping the game close with a first-half score of 2-1 in favor of Equipo. However, as the second half progressed, the team struggled to maintain their momentum.

“Halfway through the second half, the girls ran out of steam,” Coach Amy Carlson said. “We know speed and conditioning is our shortfall right now. Those are things we can and are working on.” Despite the loss, Coach Carlson remains optimistic about the team’s potential, noting that the challenges faced are part of building a new team in a new season. “We will continue to work each week towards improving, setting new performance goals.”

While the outcome wasn’t what the Trojans hoped for, there were positive takeaways from the game. “The girls worked well together, communication has improved, and they moved the ball around the field,” Coach Carlson shared. “We were just tired, and there wasn’t much we can do about it but work on it.”

Looking ahead, the PVHS Girls’ soccer team plans to focus on speed and conditioning, aiming to build their endurance and refine their skills for future games. As they continue to grow and learn, the Trojans are determined to come back stronger and more prepared for the challenges ahead.
