    Pahrump Valley High School Athletes Shine with All-League and All-State Honors in Fall Sports

    Pahrump Valley High School’s fall sports teams had an outstanding season, with athletes earning recognition at both the league and state levels for their performances across soccer, football, cross country, volleyball, and tennis. These honors reflect not only athletic excellence but also the students’ hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship.

    The girls’ soccer team had an exceptional season, led by goalkeeper Madison Mendenhall. In the Southern 3A Mountain Division, Mendenhall earned Goalkeeper of the Year and 1st Team All-League honors. She was also named Goalkeeper of the Year by the NIAA Coaches Association and received 1st Team All-Region recognition for the 3A South NIAA. Mendenhall further garnered 2nd Team All-State honors for 3A NIAA and an All-State Academic Award. Teammates Khylar Park and Natalia Vallin were key contributors, earning 1st Team All-League honors in the Southern 3A Mountain Division and 2nd Team All-Region honors for 3A South. Both players were also named to the NIAA Coaches Association All-3A and All-League lists. Shaelee Boucher and Diona Nixon added depth to the team, earning 2nd Team All-League honors in the Southern 3A Mountain Division, with Boucher also receiving All-3A and All-League recognition from the Coaches Association. Sydney Crotty joined Mendenhall in being recognized for academic excellence with an All-State Academic Award. Mendenhall and Park capped their season with selections to the 3A/4A/5A All-Star Game.

    The boys’ soccer team also celebrated notable achievements. Caleb Sierra-Hudgens earned 2nd Team All-League honors in the Southern 3A Mountain Division for his impressive play, while Ryan Nunez Manzo was recognized for his academic accomplishments with an All-State Academic Award. Their efforts were pivotal in the team’s overall success this season.

    The PVHS football team had a remarkable year with strong representation in the Southern 3A Mountain Division awards. On offense, Hunter Mellinger and Matt Lopez dominated the line, earning 1st Team All-League honors. Mellinger went on to receive 1st Team All-State recognition, while Lopez earned 2nd Team All-State honors. Running back Austin Alvarez was named 1st Team All-League and 2nd Team All-State for his standout performances. Quarterback Kayne Horibe earned 2nd Team All-League as a quarterback and honorable mention as a punter. Wide receivers Randy Murray and Ethen Hutchinson were recognized, with Murray earning 2nd Team All-League and Hutchinson receiving honorable mention.

    On defense, Randy Murray and Iyan Bosket were integral to the team’s success, both earning 1st Team All-League and 2nd Team All-State honors. The defensive line saw outstanding contributions from Matt Lopez, William Sparks, and Hunter Mellinger, who were all named to the 2nd Team All-League, while Austin Alvarez and Rhett Swaner earned 2nd Team honors as defensive backs. Honorable mentions went to Aydon Veloz, Lucas Gavenda, Jack Walker, and Josh Slusher for their versatility and defensive prowess. Aaron Rily received 2nd Team All-League honors as a kicker, consistently delivering key points for the team.

    The cross country team showcased both athletic and academic excellence. Antonio Veloz and Aurora Whitney were recognized with Honorable Mention All-League honors in the Southern 3A Mountain Division for their efforts. Meanwhile, the team’s academic achievements were celebrated with All-State Academic Awards for Alexis Clouser, Sasha Strain, Noah Flores, and Antonio Veloz, reflecting their balance of athletic dedication and academic success.

    In volleyball, Heavenly Ware led the team with her dynamic play, earning 1st Team All-League honors in the Southern 3A Mountain Division and 2nd Team All-League recognition for 3A All-League. Xeane Kamanu earned 2nd Team All-League honors in the Southern 3A Mountain Division, while Bryn Mazlo, Riley Saldana, Belen Ramirez, and Charity Broderick received honorable mentions for their contributions to the team. The volleyball team’s success highlighted their collective talent and perseverance.

    In tennis, PVHS athletes excelled both on and off the court. Alexis Staples, Mariano Ayala, Chloe Sitter-Jones, and Chris Jacks earned All-State Academic Awards for their achievements in the classroom, showcasing their ability to excel in multiple arenas. On the court, Jace Eichner and Lucas Johnson received Honorable Mention All-League recognition in the Southern 3A Mountain Division, further emphasizing their dedication to the sport.

    Pahrump Valley High School’s athletes have demonstrated remarkable skill, determination, and resilience, earning well-deserved recognition across multiple sports.
